Warning! This is an Election Year

Remember this warning each and every time you hear a politician speak.

George Bush will be yelling terror and will be posting color coded alerts through out the year. At the same time he will be telling Americans not to worry, because he is protecting us.

Democratic challengers will be saying whatever they can to make the President look bad. They will also be yelling about terrorists and how they would make us even safer than George has.

I wish there was somebody running for President that I could get excited about, but I have not found one that I think could get elected. If I could get behind a Republican, it would have to be Senator Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, of the Democrats running; I don’t see a winner in the bunch.

I do however think if George Bush gets four more years, we will lose much of our freedom and many thousands of innocent people will be killed world wide. Four more years of Bush will cost us the lives of many Soldiers and Marines.

I look at the environment and see that with another Bush administration we will be poisoning our country for our children. Bush’s spending has already indebted our kids and they will have the added cost of cleaning up the mess George is creating with his poor environmental stance.

An example of what I mean. President Bush was in Monroe, Michigan, talking to the employees of Detroit Edison, about his “new source review” clean air regulation and here is what he said, “We simplified the rules…..We trust the people in this plant to make the right decisions.” George is letting the coal fired power plants self-regulate themselves. His plan lets this plant in Monroe increase their output of sulfur dioxide by more than 35%.

I am sure that there are employees at this plant that want to do the right thing, but they don’t make the decisions. People in corporate offices far away from there will decide if they want to pollute more and therefore make more money and bonuses.

You can trust the American people, but Enron, World Com, and other corporations have shown us that they care little for the public good.

Putting the fox in charge of the hen house does not work.

Here is another example. Minnesota is the only State that has water leaving in every direction and has none entering. So what do the Republicans decide to do with one of the places in this country with the cleanest drinking water? They are going to put in a huge 2000 mw coal fired power plant. We know even with new technology it will produce tons of mercury, sulfur, and a whole list of other pollutants. Why dirty up a clean place, remember there isn’t any coal in Minnesota, only a corporation with some political muscle that can get Washington to kick in 800 million dollars of pork for the plant.

Like I said, I am not pushing you to vote one way or the other, but to be warned that this year will be filled with lies by both sides. I would have to guess that if the Green Party puts up a candidate it will be the end of their party. They claim that the environment come first with them, but I think Major Party Status and its federal money ranks right up there too.

If there was ever a time that change was needed it is now. There are many ways that Bush could lose and most are very expensive. If terrorists can again attack and kill thousands of Americans we will all know that George can’t protect us and he will lose the election. If we keep losing troops in Iraq at the current pace or God forbid a greater pace, I think George will lose.

If neither of these two comes to pass, then a united front of Democrats, disgusted conservatives, the Green Party, and a super voter turn out can defeat Bush, if and only if the election is honest. The new voting machines could give Bush a landslide victory with no paper trail to do a recount with.

I think those that are going to work to defeat George Bush in this election should start praying right now.
