I Couldn't Care Less About Gay Marriages

Last week President Bush gave us his State of the Union speech. In it he talked about a Constitutional Amendment to stop Gay Marriage, and in the week since, 13 Americans had been killed over in Iraq and over fifty wounded. There have been reports of Americans wounded in Afghanistan too. So Gay marriage does not rank right up there as an important national problem for me.

The President is talking about the Defense of Marriage Act and wanting to make it a Constitutional Amendment, while at the same time he is trying to destroy our personal freedoms protected by that same Constitution with his PATRIOT ACT and his belief that he can incarcerate anyone he wants, for as long as he wants, with no charges filed, and no court involved.

Our President wants to be the law of a land and have his police arrest Americans and never tell anyone about it. Just a knock on the door in the middle of the night and that citizen is never heard of again. American mothers will be marching in Washington displaying pictures of their children, just like in South American countries where Dictator's Secret Police have take away the children of mothers down there.

The President's plan for an Amendment for traditional marriage and his off topic talk about steroids in professional sports in his speech, are aimed at getting the American public to look at these things while forgetting about the environment, (which George never even mentioned) stop interest in the 9/11 investigation, and is a try at damping interest in the deaths of our young Americans in his War.

Now there is talk by the President's supporters that the poor in America are really rich if you go by the standards of other countries. Now all we have to do is figure out a way that we can ship all these poor Americans overseas so they can feel wealthy.

Gay marriage doesn't bother me because I'm not interested in gay issues. If two guys or two women want to get married, I don't care. Have a nice day, invite your friends, and then get on with your lives.

The gay couples that will go to all the trouble of getting married are most likely living together already. Passing a Constitutional Amendment will not cause people that are gay to turn straight because they can't get married. All it will do is make it so those couples can not have family health insurance, they can't make decisions for each other when one is in the hospital, and when one dies, they can will not be able to leave their property to their spouse. They will won't have the same rights as the man and women marriages do. The real reason for all of this is that George Bush is trying to stir up hate, so that Americans will be looking at things that really don't matter and he can go right on spending our grandchildren's money.

George Bush is good at this. He has spread fear through out the country and his color coded terrorist alerts, duck tape gas attack prevention classes, and now professional sport steroid use are all there to give him cover for his real work of making his friends happy.

George's friends are the rich and the powerful that he grew up with and the people that are giving him hundreds of millions of dollars in reelection money as a way of thanking him for all the favors he keeps doing for them.

If you are rich and powerful or think you are, then you should be out there bashing gay marriage, working to get Washington total control over the schools, and try and get some more wars going so that the defense industry can keep making more money.

It seems more and more today, that the federal government wants to control everything. Just a few years ago the Republican Party was trying hard to get rid of the Department of Education so that States and local School boards could control how their children were getting educated. Now with the No Child Left Behind program that President Bush has been pushing, Washington is taking total control over what our kids are taught.

I always thought it was best that the parents of a school district have the most input about their schools curriculum, but it is not that any more. Now Washington will be telling those parents what is best for their kids. Scary huh?

If President Bush and Colin Powell will stand before the United Nations and the whole world and lie, what do you think they will tell us about what is best for our children, or what is the best way to protect our nation. If these guys will lie to the world to get us into a war that costs thousands and thousands of lives, don't you think they will lie about anything?

Really for George to waste our time in the State of the Union on Gay Marriage and steroid use by sports stars is a form of lying. George is telling us these are some of the most important problems facing America today and you know what? That is a lie.
