Priorities

According to Washington DC City Administrator, Robert C. Bobb, the Ronald Reagan funeral has cost that city, 2.3 million dollars so far. That is just the city's cost. Add to that the federal government's cost, the State of California's cost, and then the fact that both the federal and city governments in Washington have shut down. Also there is the cost of shipping Ronny to and from our capitol.

I am not going to argue if Reagan was a good, great, or a so-so President. He did some good stuff and some bad stuff, like all Presidents. It depends on how you think, when you decide what were the good things and what were bad.

Ever since Ronald Reagan finished his second term, like all Presidents, we have given him around the clock protection. How many people do you think it takes to protect an exPresident and his family. That is three shifts a day, plus weekends, 365 days a year. One man per shift is not enough, and what if Mrs. Reagan wants to go shopping, well they have to call in extra help.

This has been going on for 16 years and the cost has to be in the millions.

At the same time that Ronald Reagan is lying in the Capitol Rotunda, there are poor little kids living right in DC and every other American city, who have no place to live. If they are lucky their parents, or parent, finds them a night in a shelter. Maybe they are on their own, and have to find some place safe by themselves.

Ronald Reagan chose to be President, in fact he did everything he could to get the job as every President does. Hey, it is the greatest power trip this world has. So what bugs me now, is that even after a President dies we continue to shower his dead body with millions of dollars, while little kids have nothing.

I will say that again. We shower the bodies of dead Presidents with millions of tax dollars, while there are thousands of American Children, who have nothing.
