America Has Fallen to Third World Status

It wasn't all that long ago, whenever I met someone who had traveled to a third world country, I would ask what the police were like. I would ask if they felt safe there. Usually the answer would be that the police had assault rifles or submachine guns and no, they didn't feel safe at all. In fact the police in most poor third world countries will scare the shit out of you and they are every where.

Today on the front page of most American News Papers, there were pictures of New York or Washington police with automatic weapons with a long clip out the bottom. These police had helmets, which have a strong resemblance to WW II Nazi helmets and these American police officers actually looked every bit as sinister in their flak jackets, as any third world paramilitary goon squad.

Remember, this is the good old USA. Yes, I know it is an election year and Bush and Company want to make the impression that they are tough on terrorism, but it wouldn't hurt our security if we had the same people keeping a low profile. It doesn't help matters at all to scare the American public with this show of force. Beside that, any terrorist will avoid these policemen, who stick out like a sore thumb.

Do I think this is an election ploy, this new show of force? Yeah I do. I remember way too many Presidents who have lied to us for political reasons, heck I think George and his dad both lied, Clinton for sure, Reagan? yes indeed. Nixon? Without a doubt. Johnson? Yeah, the man lied and cost us over 58,000 young Americans.

American Presidents lie their asses off and wonder why we question them. George Bush is still saying all the dead Americans and the over 10,000 maimed and wounded are OK. He would attack Iraq again. He can say that because he has no idea of what he is doing. The man has not a clue about what the real cost of his war is. George Bush thinks in billions of dollars, not in blood shed. George Bush still has not had the guts to attend even one funereal for a Soldier or Marine.

Today's headline in some papers was, "Six Americans Killed in Iraq." Six more mothers crying their hearts out, who knows how many wives or children, sisters and brothers, extended family, and friends. Six Americans killed and how many wounded? 60? Maybe more.

Terrorists are killing our troops in Iraq, maybe because George Bush in his bravado said, "Bring em on." What a crap thing for the President of the United States to say while he was safe in Washington. Man, politicians can make you sick.

Now our Capitol and our largest city are looking like they are in the Third World with this political show of force. Get used to it, because we are headed to Fortress America. The federal government will be flexing its muscles from now on, because heavily armed thugs make some feel safer.
