Now Bush Thinks We Should Call Them “Guest Workers”

Really now, doesn’t Guest Worker sound a lot better than Illegal Alien? If a person is illegal, it sounds a lot like they committed some sort of a crime, but when you call them a guest, well there is a whole new perception. We don’t want illegal workers here, but when we say guest workers, that sounds a whole lot better.

George Bush is still out there saying that the 11 million illegal workers who broke the law coming here are just taking the jobs Americans don’t want. You will notice that the President of the United States never even talks about the fact that these people are criminals and that is why we call them ILLEGAL aliens.

Because George Bush never had to go out and look for work, he doesn’t know that these criminals are now our carpenters, roofers, plumbers, electricians, and the jobs they are taking are jobs Americans want. George hasn’t been able to figure out that worker wages in this country are not going up, because we have all of these illegals filling any open spot. When there are not enough workers for the number of jobs, wages go up to attract people to fill them, but here in America, wages can stay the same or go down, because we have an extra 11 million workers ready to work at any wage.

Corporations are telling George that these workers and their low pay must stay here. That is why Bush is out there pushing his guest worker program. The problem with Bush’s program is that we are rewarding people for committing a crime. These people broke our law by sneaking in to our country. There are thousands of people who come to our country every year legally but the people George wants to make “guests” are criminals and should not be rewarded.

Right now, we can’t deport or even keep track of the workers who come here illegally, so how are we going to some day tell these “guests” that it is time to go home. All Bush is doing is buying time for the corporations, so they can have cheap labor for a few more years and after that, George Bush will be retired and won’t have to worry.

But our kids and grand children will have to worry. It isn’t just the corporations who want cheap labor. Many rich Americans will not break the law and hire an illegal alien, but if they all of a sudden become “legal guest workers,” well then they can hire as many as they want. Many of the rich in America, the rich who George Bush is giving tax cuts to, want to keep their low wage servants, and they are pushing for a guest worker program too.

American workers want to work for a living wage. George Bush wants to import millions of workers who will work for way less than a living wage. However George wants this abuse of human beings to be legal, so he will make these people our guests, and we can abuse them all we want then.

With George’s plan, corporations will have cheap labor, wealthy Americans will have low cost servants, gardeners, and maintenance people. It is only the low to middle class American citizens who will be hurt, and heck George Bush has never cared for them in the past, so why would we think he would work out an immigration plan to help them now?
