What More Does George Want?

After over a year of hiding out, Osama bin Laden proves to the world that reports of his death are premature. Osama proves that he is alive with an audiotape broadcast on Aljazeera, and in that broadcast he offers the United States and George Bush a truce.

Bin Laden says, "In response to the substance of the polls in the US, which indicate that Americans do not want to fight Muslims on Muslim land, nor do they want Muslims to fight them on their land, we do not mind offering a long-term truce based on just conditions that we will stick to."

Now Osama is a smart cookie, and he sent this following zinger right at George Bush and those making money off this war. "There is no problem in this solution, but it will prevent hundreds of billions from going to influential people and war lords in America—those who supported Bush's electoral campaign—and from this, we can understand Bush and his gang's insistence on continuing the war."

Of course Vice President Dick Cheney said, "We don't negotiate with terrorists." Dick went on with, we have to "destroy them."

Now would a truce be so bad? Right now millions of young Muslims are running around the world with their hero's picture on their shirt. That hero is Osama bin Laden. Now Bin Laden is taking the initiative and trying to start peace talks. This looks godly in the Muslim world, and tells young and old Muslims the world over that Osama is not only a world leader, but a man who wants peace. Remember perception is everything.

If George Bush took Osama up on this offer, we would see in a matter of days, without any loss on our part, if Osama bin Laden really does control the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan like Washington has painted him in the past.

Have our troops stand down for a few days, and see if the bloodshed stops in Iraq. If it did, that would be a good thing. If it didn't that could be a good thing too. That would show the millions of young future terrorists that Osama was not the man they think he is. He would lose much of his stature.

By refusing to even talk about a truce offered, George Bush and Washington are telling the world that we want to fight and kill Muslims on Muslim ground, and we want to make the money much of the world believes this whole war is all about.

By refusing to even talk about a truce and an end to bloodshed, we tell the world that we don't want peace, but more than that we are proving to the Muslim world what they believe is true, that they are the religion of peace and Christians are the religion of war.

Osama bin Laden is a smart man, and he knows how to play to his base. George Bush is trying to play to his base too. No matter how powerful America is, the truth of the matter shows us that Osama's base is much bigger than George's base. Being on the side that refuses a peace offer is always the wrong side to be on. Remember.... "Perception."
