George, We Can't Wait For The Generals

President Bush gave a speech yesterday, and told the American people that he wants to wait until September to decide if he should pull the troops out of Iraq. That is over a two month delay in making the decision, and right now we are losing over a hundred American Soldiers and Marines each month.

George said, "That's what the American people expect. They expect for military people to come back and tell us how the military operations are going, and that's the way I am going to play it as Commander in Chief."

Well George, this war stuff is not a game and I would appreciate it if you would take the blood flowing in Iraq more seriously. First off, more than 70% of the American people want our troops to come home now. We don't give a rat's ass what the generals have to say, we read about more dead Americans each and every day.

I seem to remember that when you talked about this "surge" thing back in January, you were telling us that Iraqi forces would be doing the "heavy lifting," and that American troops would be there in a "support' position. You must have got that line from the Generals, but that is not what is going on. The American troops are out in front, and they are taking the hits that the Iraqi troops were supposed to.

Two plus more months before deciding to pull the troops will mean 200+ more dead Americans, and about a thousand more Soldiers and Marines wounded and maimed. No George, this military stuff is not a game for you to play at being Commander in Chief. If you would take a look, you would see a lot of blood on the sand in Iraq, and see a lot of blood on your hands too.
