They Call Us The Great Satan

Do you ever wonder about why Muslim leaders, religious and secular, refer to the United States as "the Great Satan?" I must say at one time I wondered about itt, but over the years it has become more obvious. This week I was looking in the paper for a movie to watch, and a prime reason for thinking our country is ruled by Satan jumped right out at me.

Under the movies rated PG-13 there was a little line about each. Here is the explanation line they used for the movie "Definitely, Maybe." PG-13, 122 minutes, Profanity, violence, sexual theme. Here is one for the movie "Leatherheads." PG-13, 101 minutes, Profanity, violence, sexual humor.

The movie industry says the rating PG-13 means:

Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13.
A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them.

So, they are warning parents that these movies might not be appropriate for their children under the age of 13. What they are really saying though is that they are all right for children over the age of 13. Here is a list of other movie warnings.

"Drillbit Taylor" PG—13. Profanity, violence, bathroom humor

"Fool's Gold" PG—13, 110 minutes , Profanity, violence, sexual humor

"Prom Night" PG—13, 88 minutes, Profanity, violence, scary subject matter

"Semi-Pro" PG—13, 101 minutes, Profanity, crude humor, sexual content

"Spiderwick Chronicles" PG—13, Violence, scary special effects

"10,000 B.C." PG—13, 109 minutes, Intense violence, scary special effects

"Vantage Point" PG—13, 90 minutes, Profanity, intense violence, adult themes

The list goes on and on with profanity, violence, and sex in almost every film rated PG-13. The American movie industry has world-wide distribution, and many movies make more money overseas than here at home, but they all have a few things in common. They all come from the United States, they are all meant for children to view, and they are all filled with violence, profanity, and sex.

We claim to the rest of the world that we are a Christian country, but we create garbage for our children to watch, and then to make more money, we ship that visual garbage all around the globe for other children to watch.

Parents around the globe and, yes, in the Middle East, have children who want to watch the movies our country produces. When those parents have a chance to see these movies, they, like you and I, are offended that these movies were produced for children. They know these films are teaching the wrong kind of values to children, and they must be asking themselves, who would produce this type of film for children. Well, it isn't anyone with a strong moral fiber. I would have to say it is somebody aligned with the Devil, a.k.a. Satan.
