You Can Take Obama At His Word If You Like

President-elect Barack Obama is telling the nation that we can take him at his word, and that there is no reason to run out and buy a gun before he is sworn into office. You can take the man at his word if you like, but what if his word is no good? What happens then?

Here is what the National Rifle association had to say about Obama's history with guns and gun ownership:

"Prior to his campaign for president, his record as a state legislator and as a U.S. Senator shows he voted for the most stringent forms of gun control, the most Draconian legislation, gun bans, ammunition bans and even an increase in federal excise taxes up to 500 percent for every gun and firearm sold,"

Now I know the NRA will hype things to keep up membership, but before he ran for President of the United States, Barack Obama was anti-gun. But, being a good politician, Obama saw what happened to Al Gore and John Kerry. Gun owners are voters, and they watch what the candidates have to say. So, Obama decided to become, if not pro-gun, at least not anti-gun. Still, his past voting record scares a lot of people.

If you are prudent, and you feel you might need a new gun or a used gun for yourself, or maybe you are buying for your children or future children, then I would say you should buy now.

Who really knows what President Barack Obama will do or what the Democrats will do now that they are in power. Obama or the Congress could become very anti-gun, or they could just raise the tax on firearms and ammo through the roof. Either way, you buy now, and you are going to have a better selection and a lower price.

Think about your young child. Buy him or her a quality, fairly expensive gun today, and when they are your age, it will be worth quite a lot. Think about firearms as an investment. I bet they will do a lot better than the stock market.
