This Really Angers Me

EXCLUSIVE: Bush, Cheney comforted troops privately
Met with thousands of war injured, kin out of spotlight

That headline was in the Washington Times yesterday. There's even a picture of Dick Cheney teaching wounded vets at Walter Reed Army Hospital how to fly fish.

George Bush and Dick Cheney started two wars in which about 5,000 American troops have been killed, and over 30,000 have been wounded. Now they want the American people to know that they have been comforting the families of those killed and the troops who were wounded.

Here is what angers me. When George and Dick were about the same age as most of the troops they were comforting, America was in a war. Both of these two guys did everything they could to stay out of that war (Vietnam) while over six million of their fellow citizens heard their country's call to arms.

George Bush and Dick Cheney are a couple of Chicken-Hawks. Neither of them had the guts to go to war, but they were both perfectly willing to start a war in which others could fight and die.
