What Do You Think, Does Obama Have a Religious War On His Hands?

In a video obtained by Al Jazeera and broadcast Monday, Lieutenant-Colonel Gary Hensley, the chief of the US military chaplains in Afghanistan, is seen telling soldiers that as followers of Jesus Christ, they all have a responsibility "to be witnesses for him."

That start of a story comes from a article on Common Dreams, by Jeremy Scahill. Here is what is going on. The top Pentagon military chaplain is getting American Christain troops to try and convert Muslims in Afghanistan.

American churches are footing the bill to have the New Testament translated into Pasto and Dari, the two main languages in Afghanistan.

Here is a qoute from the Pentagon's chaplain. "Get the hound of heaven after them, so we get them into the kingdom. That's what we do, that's our business."

So, now under Barack Obama, we have a religious war going on. Some people will tell you that this is a George Bush program, but the fact is George Bush is no longer the Commander-in-Chief. President Barack Obama holds that command now.

Killing innocent civilians is always a good recruitment tool for those in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the Middle East, who are fighting us. This video gives them a new, and maybe better recruitment tool.

Trying to convert Muslims to any other faith is a crime in Afghanistan. The fact that the video footage is being broadcast on Al Jazeera guarantees that it will be seen throughout the Muslim world. It is likely to add more credence to the perception that the US is engaging in a war on Islam with neo-crusader forces invading Muslim lands.

With video reports like this one being seen throughout the Muslim World, our eight years of fighting in Afghanistan will certainly go on for many years to come. The Pentagon's Christian Chaplins are going to have a lot of American blood on their hands.
