What Should I Watch?

I want to know. Which channel should I watch? On one we have the Marines attacking a city in the south of Afghanistan, and on the other we have the Olympics in Canada. Both brought to you by American corporations.

The Olympics are supposed to be a nonprofit sporting event, but if you are an American and happen to get a gold medal, it can mean a lot of money.

I guess you could say our war is a nonprofit event also, but if you win a medal there, you might have lost a limb or your life.

However, to be honest, both of these events are money makers for somebody. Cities bid to host the Olympics, and corporations are paid billions to build the facilities where the individual events are held. There are television rights, and with the right photo, you can make some money.

War is almost the same. Corporations make billions supplying everything from the uniforms our troops wear to the body bags some of them come home in. Although the Pentagon has not started selling broadcast rights, everything else about the war contains a profit for somebody.

So, which one should I watch? Maybe I should ask myself which one will make a difference in my life or my children's lives. When I think in those terms, and think about the waste of funds in each of these events, Andy of Mayberry looks better.
