Who Are They Voting For?

It is Sunday afternoon, and this weekend Wanda and I had the grandkids over for a sleep-over. All the people who were focused on Washington and that Health Care Bill this weekend have had around the clock news programs to watch, with every "last minute" update the pundits could come up with. Mean while, I was outside putting up a tire swing, cooking hotdogs over an open fire, and making s'mores. I think, no, I know I had the better time.

This Health Care Bill has been in the process for I guess fourteen months now, and this Christian nation of ours has to finish the process on the Lord's Day. For some unknown reason, the Democrats had to keep part of the nation (those who still give a rat's ass about what goes on in Washington) focused on government on the one day of the week set aside to focus on God.

Maybe that tells us something about who the Democrats are voting for. It surely isn't for God or country. Some people will tell you that the Democrats have been bought by the health care industry, and that this health bill will make that industry billions. I think the Democrats have been bought by everybody. The same is true with the Republicans.

The big push to pass this bill is all about politics. The Democrats could care less about your health care or mine. They are looking at this year's election, and they have to get something passed or else they would have to admit that while the whole country was worrying about jobs and the economy, they were working on something totally different.

So, if they pass this Health Care Bill tonight, they can charge right in on getting people back to work before the election. Nobody thinks they will actually do that and truly turn things around, but they will be able to say, "Hey, jobs is job number one in Washington."

The Democrats are voting for the Democrats, and the Republicans are voting for the Republicans. You and I? Well, we don't have anybody voting for us, and we haven't for a long time now.
