Elections Are a Good Way To Hide a War

Did you know at least 38 American troops were killed in Afghanistan in October? Well, maybe you didn't, the war didn't get much coverage. Heck we even lost two Soldiers in Iraq, and that war is supposed to be over.

Of course the election had nothing to do with our not knowing how many American troops were wounded, they never have told us that. Here are some more figures they never talk about. 37,327 American troops have been killed or wounded in Iraq, and another 8,617 have been killed or wounded in Afghanistan. That totals out to 45,946 in both wars... so far. Of course we really should add to that number the over 100,000 troops who will suffer with a life long struggle of having PTST, and then there are the tens of thousands who have traumatic brain injuries.

Did you know, if you suffer from a severe brain injury from some road side bomb blowing up under your truck, but you didn't bleed, you were not wounded as far as the American military is concerned? So, if you didn't bleed, you don't get counted.

There are all sorts of ways Washington uses to hide our wars. They don't give us a daily or weekly count of our wounded. They have to tell us how many troops die, because we can just count up all the coffins coming home, but the wounded are treated here and in foreign countries. Some come home in the middle of the night, almost like they don't want us to know about them. Huh?

But the best thing Washington has to keep our minds off any war they have going is an election, and every two years we have one. This current one has lasted about a year so far, and the last election, the Presidential Election took about two years. We as a country are almost constantly in an election cycle. We are also almost constantly at war. Do you think there is some sort of relationship there?
