Really, They Don't Care

"They" are our elected officials in Washington. That would be President Obama, our Senators, and our Representatives. They all talk the talk and wring their hands when things are not going their way, but in all reality, the don't care what happens to this country. Here is a prime example of what I mean:

(CNSNews.com) — The federal debt increased $54.1 billion in the eight days preceding the deal made by President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) and House Speaker John Boehner (R.-Ohio) to cut $38.5 billion in federal spending for the remainder of fiscal year 2011, which runs through September.

Since the beginning of the fiscal year on Oct. 1, 2010, the national debt has increased by $653.4 billion.

So, the President, working with the Senate and the House, spent six months and came up with only $38.5 billion in cuts. When you are over $14 trillion dollars in debt, that cut is almost nothing, and they wasted months and months working on them, while millions and millions of Americans are out of work.

With this result from their work, we have to admit that our elected officials just don't care.
