Sunshine and a Blue Sky Does Wonders for You

Sure, I like a gentle, warm rain, and nothing is prettier than huge snowflakes falling on a windless day, but nothing beats or even comes close to a sunny, cloudless day.

This morning I was having breakfast with Wanda, and as I looked out the window I could see the morning sun hitting the east side of the trees, and in-between, high up in the branches was a soft blue sky. Right away my energy level went up, and I started thinking of all the things I could get done today.

Here is another bonus with nice weather. With nice weather your chances of being outside improve greatly, and outside you can't see the TV. Also, if you are moving around, you probably don't have the radio on. No radio and no TV means no politics or political ads. Neither will you hear any bad news, and after a while you don't miss any of those outside influences.

Of course, you have to put up with the chattering of the squirrels as they run around gathering acorns, and the birds are constantly shouting back and forth to each other, and if you are out there and not moving around, you could see a deer, or a fox, maybe even a wild turkey.

I am about to head out to the garden. I'll be weeding, planning my spring plant, and thinking about how I can make the garden more inviting for just sitting by it and contemplating life.

Sunny days with blue skies are free—they cost you nothing. In fact, I would bet they make you healthier, both in mind and body. So, next time you see that sun peaking out as it pushes the clouds away, take advantage of it and get out and enjoy the day.
