Oh Crap, Now Obama Is Thanking Me

Here is how the headline read:

"Obama welcomes home Vietnam veterans on war's 50th anniversary"

"Welcome home," Obama said. "Welcome home. Thank you. We appreciate you. Welcome home." I am sorry, but for me, better late than never does not work. I don't want people to welcome me home 40 years after the fact in an election year when they are running for office again and looking for votes.

Also, I really don't want a War Monger President like Barack Obama to use me to make his wars more palatable. I'll admit it. I was young and foolish, and I fell for the "Protecting America" line that has been used on millions of young Americans.

Nobody in Vietnam ever attacked us, and nobody in Vietnam wanted to attack us. You could say that about every war we have fought since WWII. They have all been wars of choice—our choice.

Every day, some part of my time in Vietnam pops into my mind. I don't think about high school or college every day, I don't think about my parents or siblings every day, but I do think of Vietnam every day. So, I don't need Barack Obama or anyone else bringing it up, in case I happened to be having one good day.

We as a nation killed over one million innocent Vietnamese in that war, our longest war until Barack Obama came along and kept us in Afghanistan even longer. Now he has extended our troops there until at least until 2024.

Barack Obama has said that Afghanistan is our good war. That shows me just how stupid Barack Obama is. There are no good wars. Now I have this stupid President thanking me for being duped into going to one of those bad war. I don't need stupid people telling me stupid things just to garner my vote.

So, if you see some Vietnam vet, think a bit before thanking him for his service. You might not be doing him any favors.
