Do You Think George Is Going To Try It?

A couple of months ago or even just a couple of weeks ago, I would have said, no way! Now I wouldn't bet on it. George W. Bush could just be thinking, that he can take over the American Government and to hell with the Congress and Courts.

I know, I know, it is really hard to believe that this could happen in America, but Heck things are pointing that way. George doesn't care if you are an American citizen. He has already proved that he can name you or I an "enemy combatant" even if we never have taken up arms, and throw us in a military prison. No lawyer, no phone call, no rights.

In a article in the Jewish World Review, Jonathan Turley. A Constitutional Law Professor at George Washington University writes, "Attorney General John Ashcroft is contemplating the creation of prison camps for U.S. Citizens that he declares enemy combatants. Under the proposal Ashcroft could order indefinite incarceration of American Citizens and summarily strip them of their Constitutional rights."

Professor Turley goes on to say, "Where as al-Qaida is a threat to the lives of our citizens, Ashcroft has become a clear and present threat to our liberties." And "but before we allow Ashcroft to denude our own Constitutional landscape, we must take a stand and have the courage to say, "Enough."

We do not hear any outrage coming from the White House on this attack on our freedom by John Ashcroft and it looks to be part of George's plan.

Then we have Vice President Dick Cheney telling the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars that America needs another war with Iraq. The same day, White House spokesman Ari Fleisher said White House Lawyers have decided that George Bush doesn't need Congressional approval for a war, that is the way they interpret our Constitution.

Back at the convention Cheney was saying "The risk of inaction is far greater than the risk of action." This from a man that has never served in his country's armed forces and has no idea what so ever of what the actual risk of combat is. He has however no doubt seen many Hollywood movies just like George Bush and Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. Not one shot of combat experience in any of them.

This week General Anthony Zinni said " all the others who have never fired a shot and are hot to go to war,"

George Bush has made those in Congress afraid to speak out or they will be branded as helping terrorists and unpatriotic. George also will not comply with lower court rulings on many issues and appeals everything to the higher courts where he believes those in the Supreme Court will side with him. Time will tell on that one.

Don't forget the Patriot Act, passed before it was even printed by a coward Congress. Wow! Almost forgot about the TIPS program, George's answer to why don't we have a Gestapo? Let us not forget this whole Home Land Security thing where we are changing about 130,000 jobs in Washington. Nothing like a little chaos to help facilitate a power grab.

Hitler had the Jews and George has the terrorists plus Saddam. Could George Bush be making the move to take over our Nation? I don't know for sure, but if I was writing the script, all of his moves of the last year would have been in it and he thought of some I would never believe could get this far. I am sure that it will take years to get the freedoms back that President Bush has destroyed already and some we won't get back.

I really have to say, along with Jonathan Turley, "Enough"
