This Is What They Call Better

Our elected officials in Washington would like us to believe that things are so much better in Iraq. What was going on a few weeks ago was a horrible blood bath, but today there is still a horrible blood bath going on there, just a little less blood, but horrible all the same.

I am starting with Thursday the 29th of November and going on for seven days, because those are the figures I have.

Thursday 2 Americans killed 30 Iraqis killed 48 Iraqis wounded
Friday 1 American killed 21 Iraqis Killed 9 Iraqis wounded
Saturday 1 American killed 40 Iraqis killed 41 Iraqis wounded
Sunday   53 Iraqis killed 33 Iraqis wounded
Monday   51 Iraqis killed 11 wounded
Tuesday   36 Iraqis killed 51 Iraqis wounded
Wednesday 3 Americans killed 31 Iraqis killed 70 Iraqis wounded

For the week, that totals out to 7 Americans killed, 262 Iraqis killed, and 263 Iraqis wounded. That seems pretty horrible to me. You have to remember that our population is over 300 million, while Iraq's is about 23 million. Iraq's population was way higher before we attacked, but millions have fled the country due to the violence, and for sure tens of thousands, many say hundreds of thousands have been killed.

To have the same impact on our country as it has on Iraq's population, we would have to have 3,144 of our citizens killed in a week. Remember last week according to our politicians was a good week in Iraq.
