And to Think Barack Obama Won the Antiwar Vote
by James Glaser February 11, 2009 That's right, Barack Obama convinced most Americans that he was going to end George Bush's wars. Well, he's not. In fact, he is now planning to send an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan. Yesterday, four American Soldiers were killed in Iraq and a few days before that, two Americans were killed in Afghanistan. Barack Obama now has their blood on his hands, and still we hear nothing about stopping these two wars. Americans started dying in Afghanistan in 2001, and last year we saw the highest number of our troops killed in that war. We started bringing body bags home from Iraq in May of 2003, and there are body bags heading home right now. Every loved one of every American killed in Barack Obama's wars will suffer that loss for the rest of their lives. What will make it even worse is that they now know both wars are a shame, and have nothing to do with protecting America. Yes, they will receive their loved one's medals, and they will be presented with an American flag from a grateful nation, but deep in their heart, they will know their son or daughter, husband or wife, mother or father, sister or brother gave his or her life so that American defense contractors could continue to reap their profits. Despite what he led us to believe, Barack Obama never was not an antiwar candidate and now, President Barack Obama is not an antiwar President. |
