The Democrats Just Don't Get It
by James Glaser May 24, 2010 When I say Democrats, I mean our elected officials in Washington who belong to the Democrat Party, and what they don't get, is the Tea Party crowd. They actually believe that the people yelling at the sick man at one demonstration, and the people yelling at the House members walking into to vote on the Health Care Bill are a good representation of the average person who goes to a Tea Party rally. In every movement, there are some jerks, and that includes the Democrat Party. It is pretty obvious that none of the Democrats in Washington were ever at an anti-war rally or they would know how their supporters acted when voicing their opinion of George Bush or Dick Cheney. Steve Flowers, writing for the Eufaula Tribune explains the tea baggers this way:
The Washington Democrats think they will be able to blow the tea baggers off, but what they don't understand is that many tea baggers are Democrats, and Republicans, and independents. They are a cross-section of America. They may be your mom and dad, or your son or daughter, maybe your best friend. Americans are sick of Washington, and with Congress having a favorable rate of around 13% you would think members of the House and Senate would wake up. The problem is the Democrats in Washington think they are the cat's meow. They really believe that they know what is best for the country. The rest of America has come to realize that it is Congress and the White House that has gotten us into the fix we are in. There are millions and millions of Americans out of work. Millions have lost their homes. There are millions and millions of Americans in the Tea party movement. Do you think there might be a correlation? The Washington Democrats don't think so. |
