The following is a list of President Obama's biggest campaign contributors. It was compiled by open secrets.com, the web site for the Center For Responsive Politics.
So, we can see that Wall Street is well represented, with Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase & Co, and Morgan Stanley. Now these top donors to President Obama's campaign didn't just donate to Barack Obama. I am sure that each of them gave to John McCain, too. Also, I am equally sure that they gave to every candidate in Congress who has membership on any committee that has a say in their particular industry. Americans have to understand that our politicians in Washington are bought and paid for. So, if they do make some sort of attempt to rein in Wall Street or any other industry, you know those industries are going to be sitting at the table when any new law is written up. There have been many reports that health care industry lobbyists wrote most, if not all, of the Health Care Bill that the Democrats passed this past month. Don't kid yourself, the same thing happens when the Republicans are in charge. The only group that doesn't have a place at the table when Washington is writing up new rules is the American people. Everyday Middle Class Americans are kept in the dark about who really controls our government. When Washington says it is going to clean something up or do something to help us out, it is pretty much an inside joke for the people we elect. Right now the joke is on us, and the only way we will ever change that is at the ballot box. If the masses decided not to vote for any incumbent politician, then the joke would be on them. Post Script: Wanda wanted me to say about not voting for incumbents, "Except for Ron Paul." |
