Do You Think Washington Politicians Know?

I think it is a valid question to ask if our politicians in Washington know what is going on in the rest of the country. A lot of times I don't think they even know what is going on in their own district.

People are mad, people are scared, and people are fed up. Most of all, they are fed up with Washington. I am not just talking about the Tea Party people, but Democrats, Republicans, and independents, too. I have heard people who quit voting years ago, say they are going to start again. They are going to start voting again, so they can help vote somebody out of office.

I really think our elected officials in Washington believe everything will blow over, and things will go back to normal. All they have to do is have the Federal Reserve print a bunch more money, and they think they will be able to get people back to work. Most Americans know if it wasn't for the million plus temporary jobs at the Census, the unemployment number would look a lot worse than it does.

Those politicians might not know this—America knows what they are doing. The jig is up. Most Americans know about our massive debt, and no matter how many economists or newspapers like the New York Times say that the debt ratio to GDP isn't really that bad, they aren't buying it.

Americans know about the real unemployment number being over 17%. They also know that contrary to what Washington says, we have a lot of inflation. They know about all the unfunded mandates, and that there is no money sitting in some account to pay people who are on Social Security. Congress spent that money years ago, and because Congress and White House refuse to quit spending, out national debt keeps going up.

Even though Washington has done everything they could think of to dumb down the American citizen by destroying public education, and feeding us propaganda through our media, the lies became too big and too numerous to keep everything hidden. The cat's out of the bag, and the people know it.

Meanwhile our elected politicians in Washington go about doing what ever they want. They continue to spend money, fight wars, and probably most importantly in their eyes, have a good time.

Yes, our Politicians are fat, dumb, and happy. Just maybe this fall they will learn something about what is really going on in America. I sure hope so.
