It's not like the Democrats accomplished anything good with control of both Houses of Congress and the White House these past two years. In fact, instead of just two wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Democrats now have us bombing Pakistan and Yemen, and on top of that, we are starting up things in Somalia.. We still have that prison in Gitmo, Cuba that Obama promised to close last winter. We still torture people around the globe, and we still have that Patriot Act. The economy was bad when the Democrats took over and it is still going no where. So, if the Republicans win one or both Houses of Congress are things going to change? I don't think so. Maybe President Obama won't be able to keep on with his spending spree, but then again, maybe he will. Republican politicians like to spend tax or borrowed money just as much as Democrats do. Those eight years under George Bush must have been fun, and no doubt profitable for every Republican elected. The election is just a couple of weeks away, but I have yet to hear anybody from either party talk about Hope or Change. I guess that line has been used one time too many and about all we can hope for is total grid lock. Grid lock means no new spending, and that might not be cutting the deficit or our National Debt, but it is better than the direction we are headed in now. |
