The Republicans Are Salivating

You can hear it in their voices, and you can see it in their demeanor. The Republicans can taste victory, and they are doing everything they can to not look or sound like they are gloating.

The Republicans are holding their collective breath, have their fingers crossed, and are praying out loud that the Democrats stay home on election day. I am sure the word has gone out to every Republican candidate and party official to stay on message, and don't give Democrats any reason to think their vote could make a difference.

Of course, we all know even with a victory, even a huge victory that gives them control of the House and Senate, nothing is going to change. The Democrats had a hard time doing anything, and they have the House, Senate, and the Presidency.

I am rooting for the Republicans to gain control of the House, just to insure grid lock. If they get that, spending should slow right down. Also, I would like it very much if some of the politicians in Washington who have been in office for decades would lose. I think new people and new ideas are needed. Maybe some younger people would do us some good. At least younger people know that they are going to be alive when our nation's debts comes due, so maybe, just maybe they will try to do something about it.

In two weeks we will see what happens. Until then we will have to suffer all those horrible political ads. Actually, when I hear them, I wish there were a way that neither party's candidate could win. Pretty much, all the people running for office this time have a mean streak in them, and they are nasty, too.
