It is a good thing we have baseball going on this late in the season. If we didn't, about all there would be to watch on TV would be old horror movies, political shows about the upcoming election, or cooking shows. Of course there are the stations that sell gem stones, jewelry, and that Shark vacuum cleaner. At least with baseball you can get a whole half of an inning before they break for a half dozen political ads. Most of the nation could care less if the Giants or Rangers win. Most people follow their home town or home state team, and after they lose in the regular season or in the playoffs, interest drops. This year it might be different. It is all about timing, and most people are pretty sick of this election race and can't wait for it to be over. I think that will make viewer-ship numbers go up for the world series. People are going to watch, just because there is nothing better on. I, for one, am glad we have a World Series going on now. I don't know any of the players' names, let alone any stats, but heck, it is a ball game, and a few innings of that tops anything else on. |
