12 In 8

Yesterday was the 8th day of the month and 12 American troops had been killed in Afghanistan in those 8 days. Years ago, when the war had just started, any American getting killed made the front page of the New York Times and was a lead story on our nightly television news programs.

Today, you don't read about those deaths, nor hear about them. So far this year, 425 of our troops have been killed, and in the last two years under Barack Obama as Commander-in-Chief, more Americans have been killed that in the eight years of the war under George Bush. In fact, during the eight years of war under Bush, 630 Americans were killed. In the 21 months since Obama has taken control of the war, 742 of our troops have died.

On average more than one American has died every day this year in Afghanistan, but according to our news media nothing is happening over there. I think the fix is in, and the Military Industrial Complex has gained control over what we hear or read about the war. The deaths continue unreported—nothing could be better for their profits.
