Why Scan Pilots?

I believe this whole TSA security mess started with some pilot who didn't want to get radiated by the scanning machine, and also didn't want to be groped by TSA employees before every flight he had to work.

Just as an aside, have you ever talked to any TSA employees? Did they seem like the kind of people who would grope you in a professional manner? Do you think there are any professional gropers who could have trained them in the first place? But I digress. Back to that pilot.

Why would any pilot bring a bomb on board an airplane? Just like what happened during the 9/11 terrorist attack, any pilot that wanted to, could turn his or her plane into a bomb simply by flying it into a building or the ground. It is pretty doubtful that they would feel the need to bring a bomb taped to their body, when they control the whole plane.

I know this doesn't solve anything, but I think we could rule out the flight crew as bomb carriers.

I have talked to people who work for TSA, and they could just as well be ushers in movie theaters, or get a job at the local car wash. The word "professional" never comes to mind when I think of the ones I have met. Yes, I am sure there are exceptions, but until the government upgrades the whole class of people working for TSA, I think they are going to face a continuing backlash of protest from the flying public.

This whole episode tells us that our government is not run by the best and the brightest.
