I don't really care that we finally got Osama bin Laden, ten years after the fact. I remember a few years ago we captured some woman that was in the Weather Underground back in the 1960s. That didn't seem very important either. From all the reports I have read, there are only about 150 al Qaeda terrorists in the world, and most of them are hiding out like Osama was. I guess killing him was justified, but it doesn't make us safer. I don't think Osama bin Laden was the mastermind of 9/11. Even Washington tells us they have a guy, Sheik Somebody that they water boarded 183 times, who was the mastermind of the 9/11 attack. Osama probably funded the operation, but where did he get his money from? Maybe that question tells us why they killed him, when they could have brought him in for trial. I think Osama knew too much, and Washington didn't want the American people to know that our "friends" in places like Saudi Arabia financed the 9/11 attack. Killing Osama ties up a lot of loose ends. So, Osama bin Laden is dead. The War in Afghanistan is still going on, as is our war in Iraq. Yes, 11 American troops died in Iraq in April and 47 in Afghanistan. Osama is dead, and the profits continue to roll in for the Military Industrial Complex, and a portion of the American public thinks we are making progress. |
