We Need Higher Taxes

I know that doesn't sound good, but really, morally speaking, we should raise our own taxes. Let's face it. It doesn't matter if we have the Democrats or the Republicans in charge of our government in Washington because either political party will spend more than we take in with the current tax levels that we have.

We keep spending more than we have, and we are creating a huge bill that our offspring will have to pay at some future date. That is so wrong. We should pay for what we spend ourselves.

So, if Washington wants to keep spending over a trillion dollars more than we have each year, the tax payers of today should make up the difference. Also, we should raise our taxes enough to pay off our own debt so we are not handing that off to our children.

I think if we did this, Washington would stop spending the way they are, because the people would demand it, so that those new tax levels could come down.
